When rebuilding an engine there are a multitude of small parts that must be installed correctly. The simplest of a motors complex parts list is the piston circlip. It simply snaps on to the piston pin preventing the piston from sliding back and forth. Installed correctly, in the piston pins groove, it never causes a problem. But, if incorrectly installed, or an old one is reused and it breaks within the engine SEVERE engine damage will occur. Remember NEVER reuse a circlip and listen for the snap as the clip expands into its groove AND verify it visually on BOTH sides! Tomei circlips are specially designed to work in conjunction with their high performance pistons, connecting rods, and piston pins.
